HEYYYYYYY! TIME! STOP DOING THAT THING! THE THING WHERE YOU GO TO FREAKING FAST! NOBODIES RACING YOU! SLOW DOWN!
Summer is pretty close…. Like waaaaay too close..
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
So, todays TTT is “Summer Reads” but I recently already did a post on summer reading recommendations (There was a heat wave and I was melting….. it seemed appropriate)
But it also said you could list your Summer TBR, and because I haven’t thought about what I’ll read while being baked alive. It seemed like a good idea. Half-baked Lin won’t know how to function, so best to plan her reading schedule ahead of time.
Currently Known Reads:
So far, I know I want to finish the Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard. I am currently reading King’s Cage but I think I might stop for a while. My reading mood has changed and I want to read fluffy contemporaries. I don’t want to not enjoy King’s Cage purely because I wasn’t in the mood.
Summer reads always makes me think of fluffy books anyway, so maybe it’s for the best.
So putting that on hold, I plan to pick up Geekerella by Ashley Poston first.
After that….. I have no plans, so I’m gonna make some.
Contemporary Books I Need To Get To!
I haven’t read a lot of contemporary this year….. actually……… I haven’t read any contemporary this year.
I need to fix this urgently… I have BOUGHT LOADS OF NEW CONTEMPORARY BOOKS?!?!?!?!? WHY HAVEN’T I READ THEM??!??!? Oh, because of the TBR…. oh I see….. NO EXCUSE!!!
Oh! Wait! I read Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia! I liked that one! YAY! That’s one contemporary book in six months….. oof
There are so many that I need to get to, these are the ones that I plan to read this Summer! (I’m going to put this post to shame and probably read like 2 of these maximum…. just watch)
Eleanor & Park – This book has been around for a while. It’s been on my shelf for a while. But I haven’t read it yet. *hides inside TBR*
Alex, Approximately – This book just sounds like a really summery summer read?? So, reading it Summer just seems right? Plus I feel like it might make me want to go on an adventure, so best to read it while it’s hot and I want to leave the oven that is my house.
Turtles All The Way Down- I pre-ordered this book…. I still haven’t read it. I have heard great things about it and it apparently has great OCD rep, it’s John Green. But still I have not read it??? Someone send help, I think I’ve been possessed…..
Under Rose-Tainted Skies – Last year I read Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon, and I actually quite enjoyed it. Some reviews say that this book is somewhat similar, so I bought it. Now I want to read it. Can I just note how pretty the cover is?? (On Amazon this book is available in three different shades of pink?? This is really cute…My copy’s pink is darker than the one in the image ^^)
Made You Up – This is actually Zappia’s debut novel, and I liked her other book so I’m pretty excited already! If I’m correct this book deals with Schizophrenia? Which is pretty rare to find in a book, I’m interested to see where this book goes. If it’s anything like Eliza then I’ll probably love it!
Letters to the Lost – Once again I bought this book with the intention of reading it immediately….. I didn’t…… BUT! I plan to read it this summer. It has waited long enough. Plus I read a review about it recently and my excitement levels have risen alarmingly!
Unconventional – AUTHOR! MAYBE CONS??? FLUFFY WRITER LOVE???? YES PLEASE! GIMME! I’m really excited about this book. Now that I think about it, I’ve not read a book in which one of the main characters is a writer… It sounds like so much fun! SQUEEEEEEE!
There’s Someone Inside Your House – I figured that I would add a spooky book on here. I mean it sounded kinda fluffy, until…. y’know….. the murdering. Maybe this will spice up my reading? Besides I don’t have any “horror” books on my shelf, so I keep eyeing this one like “ARE YOU TRYING TO TAINT MY OTHER PRECIOUSES?!?!?!?” The reviews for this book are average though, so I don’t have expectations, maybe I’ll be surprised??
What books do you plan to read this summer? Do you know any fluffy books with writers as the main characters? Do you have contemporary books stacking themselves in a corner turning into a fluffy monster of doom because you haven’t been paying any attention to them?
